Using the zoom up close and indoors
For close subjects, leave at least 0.6m between the camera and subject at the wide end, or 0.9m when fully zoomed in. Zooming changes the minimum focusing distance as well as the framing.
Flash reach also changes with zoom and film speed. Olympus lists a range of 0.6–6.4m at the wide end but 0.9–2.3m at the telephoto end with ISO 100 negative colour film.
